Cover has been flown in Islander from the Army Air Corps Centre in Middle Wallop over East Wittering where the first successful AI radar interception was made by Flight Lieutenant Cunningham and Segeant Philipson of 604 Squadron in Beaufighter R2098 on 20th November 1940 when Junkers 88 captained by Unteroffizier Sondermeier fell blazing into the ground at Stocks Lane East Wittering Chichester.
