JS50/42/01 Channel Dash Veterans Signed Cover

Cover depicts Lieutenant Commander Eugeune Esmonde leading six fleet air arm Fairey Swordfish in an unsuccessful torpedo attack off the Kent coast against the German battle crusiers Scharnhorst and Gneisenau. Cover bears 20p Victoria Cross Gallantry stamp as Esmonde was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross for his part in the action. Cover has been signed by two of the 4 survivors of the Channel Dash
