JS50/42/05 Baedeker Raids RAF cover signed WWII Para

Cover produced for the 50th Anniversary of the Baedeker raids. Cover depicts the scene of the first Baedeker raid raid in Exeter 24th April 1942, then scenes from Canterbury 31st April and York 28th April. Cover bears 28p Christmas stamp cancelled with BFPS 2286 for the Anniversary of the Raids.

Cover has been flown in Cessna from Biggin Hille to Liile-Nord the wartime base of Kampfgeschwader 53 and then to the area in Northern France from where Luftlotte 2 operated then retracing the routes taken by the Luftwaffe in the Baedeker raids on Exeter and Canterbury finally returning to Biggin Hill
