Photographic artwork showing the first ever edition of the RAF Newspaper and in the background the 500 edition with a modern composite showing Harrier in reagrds to its role in the former Republic of Yugoslavia, Eurofighter appearing at Air Shows and the Supermarine Spitfire commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
The cover bears white 1st class definitive stamp cancelled with BFPS 2591 'Swift and Secure' postmark on the 6th June 2000 the date of issue of the 1000th edition. The cover has been flown in a Lockheed Tristar of No 216 Squadron over RAF Innsworth the home of the RAF News.
