JS50/40/3 Invasion of Belgium cover signed ANNAND VC

Cover depicts the bombardment of Brussels and its capture and the assult detachment capturing fort eban Emael. Cover bears 24p Welsh defin which us cancelled with BFPS2229 for the 50th Anniversary of the Invasion Belgium.

Cover has been flown from Biggin Hill in Wassmer WA51a via Ostended Gente to overfly Eben Emael near Liege where on 11th July 1940 glider borne troops of Battalion Koch captured the key Belgian Fortress.

Hand signed by Second Lieutenant Richard Wallace Annand
who was awarded the Victoria Cross for Most Conspicuous Gallantry on the 15/6 May 1940 on the South side of the River Dyle.
