JS50/40/6 Battle of Britain signed HANCOCK + FOXLEY-NORRIS

Cover produced for the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Cover depicts Spitfires of 74 Squadron intercepting Dornier Do17s of KG2 on 13th August Adlertag 1940. It also depicts the attack on convoy Peewit on 8th August 1940 and Tangmere being devastated by HU87s of stg2 on 16th August 1940. Cver also depicts the badges of the RAF and the Luftwaffe. Cover bears 20p Victoria Cross Gallantry stamp which is cancelled with BFPS2232 for the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain 11th September 1990.

Cover has been flown in HS125 XX508 of 32 Squadron of 32 Squadron from RAF Northolt to the region of Ipswich where formation was joined with Canberra from RAF Wyton then as part of the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain Flypast to London along the Mall and over Buckingham Palace to finish at RAF Abingdon and then returned to Northolt.
