JS50/43/01 Capture of Tripoli RAF cover signed DFM + Army DCM

Cover produced for the 50th Anniversary of the Capture of Tripoli. Cover depicts the 8th Army entering Tripoli on 23rd January 1943, War weary Italian soldiers surrendering to the 8th Army at El Agheila in 1942 and Tedders Carpet at Buerat. Cover bears 28p welsh defin cancelled with BFPS 2352 for the 50th Anniversary of the Capture of Tripoli.

Cover has been flown in Hercules XV212 of 30 Squadron from RAF Lyneham to RAF Laabruch Adana, Iraklion and back to Lyneham, en route flying along the north coast of Africa and past the city of Tripoli.
