Lest We Forget 1925 Millennium JSCC FDC
Cover produced to commemorate events in 1925. Cover depicts Bristol F2Bs of No 5 (AC) Squadron over Mahsud positions, DH9As of No 27 Squadrons being bombed up at Miramshah and a DH9A of No 60 Squadron bombing Tribal encampments.
Cover also depicts the Indian General Service Medal with Campaign bar for Wazirstan 1925. The Waziristan bar was awarded for service under Wing Commander R C M Pink CB againt the Waziris. It was the first occasion in which the RAF were used independently of the army and is the only Bar awarded to the RAF only for service in India.
Cover bears full set of Millennium stamps which have been cancelled on first day of issue with Pinks War Waziristan 74th Anniversay 3.8.99 Whitehall.
Cover has been flown in HS125 of 32 The Royal Squadron from Edinburgh to RAF Lyneham on a flight associated with the opening of the Scottish Parliament
