JS(CC)01b 1995 VE-Day Biggin Hill Air Show East meets West signed BBMF pilot

Cover produced to commemorate the 1995 Biggin Hill Air Fair of the 50th Anniversary of the VE Day Display and entitled East Meets West. The artwork of the cover shows 50 years of Russian Aircraft, from WWII the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG 3 single seat fighter, the successful Petlyakov Pe-2 twin engine bomber which served 1941-45, the Ilyushin Il-10 which entered service in February 1945 above the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG 15 and Sukhoi Su-27 jet fighters are shown.

The cover have been flown in BBMF Lancaster PA 474 from the UK to the Netherlands as part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations of Operation Manna. Cover bears a 19p VE-Day Stamp and the special BFPS postmark 2452 for the 50th Anniversary of VE Day Biggin Hill Air Show.
