JS50/42/03 Operation Biting Bruneval Raid RAF cover

Cover depicts whitleys of 51 Squdaron dropping their paratroopers and containers over a snow covered landscape, the radio location device is dismantled under intense fire from LA Presbytere. Cover bears 39p Army stamp cancelled with 50th Anniversary Operation Biting postmark.

Cover has been flown in Hercules of 30 Squadron from RAF Lyneham to RAF Luechars and then to RAF Wildenrath returning to RAF Lynegam after making a memorail flypast over Bruneval and the area in which Operation Biting was fought.
